Eleuthera is one of the most unique islands in The Bahamas—long, narrow, and full of natural contrasts. It stretches about 110 miles but in some places is only a mile wide, so you’re often never far from the ocean on either side.

One of its most famous spots is Glass Window Bridge, where you can literally see two different colors of water side by side—the deep blue Atlantic Ocean on one side and the calm turquoise Caribbean Sea on the other. It’s one of the most photographed places in the country.

Eleuthera is known for its:

Pink sand beaches (especially around Harbour Island nearby)

Laid-back, less crowded vibe compared to Nassau

* **Pineapple farming**—it produces some of the sweetest pineapples in the region

* **Clear water and reefs**, great for snorkeling and diving

The main settlement is Governor’s Harbour, which has historic homes, local restaurants, and a quiet island charm.

It’s a great destination for people who want a more authentic, peaceful Bahamian experience—less resort-heavy and more nature, culture, and small local communities.
