Bimini is renowned for record-setting big game fishing, with abundant catches year-round thanks to the gulf stream. Anglers find success offshore, on reefs, or in the flats.
Reef fishing yields Grouper, Cero, and King Mackerel, while the flats are ideal for Bonefish, Grouper, and Snapper. Fish are plentiful, making Bimini a top sport fishing destination.

Dolphin House

North Bimini
Dolphin House 347-3201 Established in 1993 the Dolphin House ‘Poetry In Stone’ is a Dolphin & Ocean inspired mini museum built by local Bahamian author/historian/scholar Ashley Saunders. A popular attraction visited daily by international travelers also offers a novel gift shop for souvenir purchases. Guests of the DH can enjoy daily historical walking tours conducted by Mr. Saunders, who has written three history books on the Bimini islands
Bimini Memorial & Heroes Park (AT) It features monuments in memory of the World War I and II veterans and the Chalk’s plane crash victims. There is also a section honouring Heroes who made a contribution to the local community.

South Bimini
The Bimini Biological Field Station “ Shark Lab” Tel: 347-4538 or VHF 88A. With their mission evenly divided between education and research, the BBFS studies the role of sharks in a tropical marine environment, especially the Lemon Shark. Tours are offered daily. Please call in advance.

The Bimini Nature Trail, is a beautiful hiking trail that showcases Bimini’s plants and animals in their natural environment. The Bimini Boa and other animals are available for handling with guided tours. Both guided and self-guided tours are available.

The Fountain of Youth, a small well on the side of the road, believed to have been visited by Ponce de Leon in search of this mystical fountain in 1513. (Ask your taxi to stop to take a look)

Historical Sites
Brother’s Peter Wall, also known as “Bul Peter Well”, is a natural rock well carved by Peter Russell, an ex-slave, to water crops on his farm.

East Bimini
The Healing Hole is a spring of freshwater, with healing minerals, that percolates inside a saltwater mangrove swamp.

Sand Mounds, a 500 ft long, shark-shaped mound thought to be thousands of years old, rises 10 feet above water and is outlined by a sandy beach. Nearby is a rectangular-shaped mound, except for a projection at one end that looks like a fish-hook.  Next to that are a cat-shaped mound with a wide open mouth and several other creature-shaped mounds rising above the mangroves.

Outlying Cays
Cat Cay, a private island just south of Gun Cay, has earned a reputation as a place for the rich and famous. For more information contact Cay Cay office at 347-3565

Ocean Cay is the site from which aragonite(pure limestone) is dredged from the ocean’s floor to produce cement, fertilizers, glass and other products.

Radio Beach, Bimini
